Settings: Native Species and Animal Habitats

Throughout the OEA, Native Species and Animal Habitat settings will provide additional learning opportunities. Native plant species will be labeled with scientific and common names, which can be incorporated into existing biology or ecology curricula. Programming and signage will indicate animal habitats and explain what lives where and why. Examples will include Golden Seal, Solomon's Seal, Trilliums, other Heritage Species, and animals such as salamanders. All such data will be included in the Remote Sensing database. Specific elements of these settings will include:
  • Demarcation of niches
  • Interpretive signs
